Our hotplates are suitable for all routine laboratory applications. They are rugged, durable and are available in a range of sizes and types, designed to deliver uniform temperature over the whole top surface. The bodies are of mild steel coated with a white, high acid-resistant polyurethane enamel and supported by rubber feet.
Units with cast iron top plates are controlled by energy regulators, maximum 500°C. Aluminium top units are thermostatically controlled up to 300°C; Teflon "Silverstone" coated up to 280°C. Solid state instruments can be fitted for finer temperature control. Stainless steel surrounds are available for sand bath heating.
A separate controller is supplied for the larger model 206 cast iron top hotplate or for any other model when used in extremely corrosive environments. Special acid resistant element leads and 316 stainless steel are used on the heavy acid range of hotplates.
SEM heat controllers can be used on any heating apparatus.
- EHC1 to 10 amps at 240V.

Sizes range from 130mm diameter round to 610 x 500mm rectangular. All require 220/240 volts.
Hotplate tops are made from smooth or rough aluminium, optionally with PTFE coating, or from cast iron.
- A smooth hotplate is preferable for curing mounting media, smoothing wax and resin sections, heat staining and drying silica gel.
- A rough hotplate reduces boiling bounce.
Hotplates are custom built and special purpose models, for instance in explosion prone environments, or for drying, are available.
Some models can be made to withstand extremely corrosive environments. These are fitted with the temperature controller in a separate housing and a more acid-resistant element.
For critical analytical work, hotplates can be supplied completely coated with PTFE.
All Aluminium/ Teflon hotplates are available in a low-temperature version. These are better controlled in the lower temperature range and cannot reach the highest temperatures, thus avoiding some hazardous situations. These plates carry the suffix 'L' in addition to the A or T in the catalogue number e.g. E204AL. They may be ordered specifying the critical temperature range, prices are the same as the equivalent normal temperature range hotplates.
These are quality Australian-made hotplates. Usual delivery period is four weeks, although small hotplates may be ex-stock.

HOTPLATES FOR CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENTS
Hotplates from the heavy acid range are suitable for extremely corrosive environments. This range covers a variety of sizes in cast iron. Aluminium is available on request.
Teflon coated aluminium or austenitic iron hotplates are available in most sizes, and digital PID control with removable temperature probe is an option on any hotplate.
The hotplate bodies are constructed entirely from heavy gauge 316 stainless steel, and element connections are fully sealed.
Single phase hotplates are supplied with a 10 amp or 15 amp heat control box of cast aluminium construction. This can be free standing on rubber supports or fixed to a wall via mounting lugs.
Three phase hotplates are supplied with a robust switching unit housed in a powder coated heavy gauge steel box and a single phase cord to power the energy regulator and three pole relay.

MAGNETIC STIRRER HOTPLATE
PID temperature control, LED display, and features an exceptionally durable, excellent chemical resistant, ceramic work surface with a marine grade stainless steel thermocouple. Their space-efficient design, makes these ideal for use on crowded benchtops and inside bio-hoods.
Advanced microprocessor controls allow quick, precise adjustment of speed and temperature. The large, LCD display provides constant visualization of the speed and temperature. In addition, an probe is available for applications that require precise temperature contol. When connected, the probe provides direct feedback to the microprocessor, which continuously adjusts and maintains the selected temperature in the sample within ±1°C.
With a 140mm² to 280mm² working surface, these magnetic hotplate stirrers are compatible with a wide variety of popular sizes of borosilicate glass beakers, flasks, bottles and other vessels. A support rod is available for mounting thermometers, temperature probes, etc.
