Knittel Glass Slides
KNITTEL Glass was founded in 1987 by the entrepreneurial Waldemar Knittel in Braunschweig, Germany. Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH comprises the full range of slides including twin frost slides, counting chambers, cut and ground edge slides (45°, 90°, bevelled) with various surface printing, treatments and coatings and high-quality coverslips in squares, rectangles or circles in different dimensions and thicknesses.
KNITTEL has been certified ISO 9001 and 13485 for many years where compliance of our processes and systems are our top priority. The company offers CE-marked IVD slides and coverglass complying with all applicable requirements of EU Regulation 2017/746 on IVD medical devices (IVDR).
The combination of high quality raw materials, production efficiency and process quality is our strength. Most of the KNITTEL products are manufactured on automated production lines with integrated quality controls. The slides and coverglass conform to the relevant international ISO standards and are also customisable.
Floatglass
Floatglass is chemically a soda-lime glass with superior flatness tolerances which makes it the best choice for all automated equipment. KNITTEL uses European quality Floatglass for its microscope slides and also offers an ultra white (low iron) glass slide (Microcrown). Microcrown is a highly transparent optical crownglass developed for use as optical glasses an applications including fluorescence-microscopy (TEM).
Quality
KNITTEL slides are cleaned by a globally unique, environmentally friendly cleaning-procedure developed by KNITTEL. The process offers the best wettability and the optimum condition of the marking area. Slides are available in the familiar edge formats, such as cut, ground 90° with or without clipped corners, ground 45° and bevelled edge.
